Smiling Moose Deli proudly raised it's antlers in 2003, when we opened our first deli in Colorado's Vail Valley! Now we have one right here in Eau Claire, Wisconsin! Come try our HOT and COLD sandwiches, soups, salads, espresso and breakfast all day! We have wonderful CATERING as well!
I just went to the smiling moose this morning and was disheartened that none of the gluten free menu items were offered. From the sounds of it unless our local bread distributors offer to distribute gluten free breads it will just be an over priced deli. I ordered a mountain sunrise protein style and ended up with unseasoned eggs with just red bell peppers wrapped in wilted Romain lettuce(no sausage or pepper jack.) The Bambino my husband ordered was nothing you couldn't get better at many of our local sub shops for less $$. I am sorely disappointed as I was hoping the best for this new deli. I don't waste my time complaining in the stores I simply just don't return.

ReplyDeleteAs one of the owners of the Smiling Moose Deli in Eau Claire, I'm sad to hear your comments. We are working on getting gluten free bread in the store, and are open to any suggestions you might have on a local source. I'd love it if you'd give us another chance...stop in and see us and we'll try to give you a better experience. Thanks for taking the time to write...we strive to give quality customer service and quality sandwiches but if we miss the mark, we appreciate the comments and will improve. We certainly do hope you'll come back and give us another chance.
